Google has finally officially announced its new Android 8.0 Oreo based Android Wear Beta Device right before launching its new Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2XL smartphones. It’s now clear that Google is not far behind when it comes to taking beta registrations for its preliminary beta updates for its upcoming Android wear.
Although this new update may not bring in many new features, the update in itself is an excitement for many who are interested to wear Android Wear with the latest updates.
Google, in its recent I/O 2017 Event, made it quite clear that this new Android 8.0 Oreo update is still in progress but will be out soon with not many new things to notice apart from the Background Limits and Notification Channel.
Design: Many believe that the new Android 8.0 Oreo based Android Wear from the house of Google will look quite similar to Android Wear 2.X but with a twist in terms of ability to configure the alerts that appear through the smartwatch.
Battery: At the same time, people are hoping for this new Android Wear from the house of Google to come with improved battery life. This is because this time Google has put efforts in reducing the background location check frequency. Besides this, the company has restricted limitations on all the services that run in the background.
Designed to Compete: Google has designed this new Android 8.0 Oreo Based Android Wear to compete with the reigning Apple OS Watch and Samsung’s Tizen.
In the event, the company officials also made it clear that the latest Android Wear Beta is available on a test device for flashing and it can also be tested using Android emulator too.
At the moment, LG Watch Sport is the only smartwatch that is practically available for testing via flashing a ROM and now this one from Google will join it soon!
Smart Notification Channels: A remarkable feature of this new Android Wear Beta from the house of Google, as mentioned earlier, is its smart Notification Channels that will enable the user to configure different kinds of alerts coming via a smartwatch smartly. Such smart notification channels are nowhere to be seen in other Android Wears.
This Smart Android Wear from Google is expected to notify whenever there is a bug in the notification. Apart from this, it will warn beta testers about contacts syncing and heart rate monitor.
Availability: Although, the company has not yet revealed when the new Android 8.0 Oreo Based Android Wear will be available, it has surely revealed its plans to launch it soon for those who wish to stay updated in their day to day life.
In fact, with Samsung and Apple already established as popular smartwatch makers in the world, Google will need time to rethink, whether it really wishes to emerge as a smartwatch maker or not with products like Android 8.0 Oreo Based Android Wear.
Stay tuned to learn more updates about this recently announced Google Android Wear!
