It’s 2017. And you know what that means don’t you? New video game releases! If you’re like us and nothing gets your adrenaline going than the thrill of high speed car chases, drift trains, and showing off your skills to your mates, then this list is for you.

We have picked some of the most highly anticipated racing games that are coming to stores near you in 2017.

  1. Need for Speed 2017

Normally, the wonderful people at EA Canada had the habit of releasing one title per year for the NFS franchise which has developed a cult following over the years. The new developers, Ghost Games, have a longer development cycle of 16 months, and we think they like to keep fans waiting in anticipation of new games. They have announced that the next title is due in 2017. It is being called NFS 2017 for now as no official name has been set for it and will be for the PS4 and Xbox One platforms. EA has been uncharacteristically quiet about the whole thing, even at the EA Play 2016 conference there was no major announcement regarding it. We have our fingers crossed!

  1. Grand Turismo Sport

GT Sport will hopefully mark the next generation of the GT series. Fans eagerly waiting for GT 7 will be delighted with the new GT Sport as it is released in 2017 opening a whole new dynamic for the franchise. It’ll be the first game of the series to be released on the PS4, and a “Tour Mode” especially designed only for Play Station VR.

  1. F1 2017

For those of you are into F1, this one’s for you. It is set to carry on the same improvements and additions that F1 2016 had including all 10 seasons and all 21 circuits from the 2016 season including the Baku street circuit. F1 2017 is for the PS4, PC and Xbox One platforms and is set to release in 2017, and Code masters will have enhanced physics for the game, more mechanical failures, freedom of tires and new dynamics including wind.

  1. Project Cars 2

The developers are Slightly Mad (Studios) on this one. Project Cars 2 will have over 200 racecars including banned ones to be enjoyed on 200 tracks, with dynamic weather, handpicked from 50 locations across the world. Multidisciplinary modes including Rally-cross and Hill-climbs will be available. It is set to release in the second quarter of 2017 on the PC PS4 Xbox One and Steam OS platforms.

  1. Forza Motorsport 7

Forza Motorsport 6 and the demo of third installment of the open world Forza Horizon series whose full version features stunning graphics and great physics with 350 cars and a range of customization options from realistic performance upgrades kits from Rocket Bunny and Liberty Walk. It’s no surpirise that the 7th installment of Forza Motorsport, will feature improved realism and physics along with great graphics. It is set to be released in the autumn of 2017 support the PC and Xbox One platforms and could mark the beginning of wonderful games that will be available on the new Xbox Scorpio. That’s one of the downsides of owning a PS4 if you are a Forza Fan. Sorry, Play Station users!
