1.       Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+

Right there on top of our list of top 5 smartphones for New Year 2018 comes the already in news S9 series from Samsung. Yes, the wait will finally be over in the first quarter of 2018, when we will actually get to see both Samsung S9 and S9+ smartphones on the shelves. Out of the two Samsung S9 will be a 5.8inch display and S9+ will be a 6.2inch display phone both powered to have a beautiful aspect ratio of 18:5:9.

Both will be water and dust resistant and will be available with a superb battery life. Expected to incorporate the powerful Octa Core Snapdragon 845 Soc and a whopping 6GB RAM, Samsung S9+ will be a better version out of the two phones that will be released in the S9 series.

Moreover, we believe the same model will feature a dual camera setup at the rear side. As far as the pricing of both these smartphones from the house of Samsung is concerned, we expect the former to cost around £700 and the latter and better model to cost you around £800.

2.       Google Pixel 3

The phone we consider worthy of the No. 2 spot on our list of top 5 smartphones for New Year 2018 is none other than Google Pixel 3. Yes, after receiving cool reviews for Google Pixel 2, the company is all set to launch its successor called Google Pixel 3 very soon in the markets.

Expected to come incorporating a powerful Snapdragon 845 processor, this successor of Google Pixel 2 will be a high power phone with a better battery life that may last for two days on a single charge. This smartphone is believed to be launched in a 6GB RAM model with 64GB and 128GB inbuilt memory options.

We believe the phone will be launched at a mega event from the house of Google in October 2018. So you will have to be a little patient for this one! On the other hand, the price speculated for Google Pixel 3 is between $650 and $750.

3.       Nokia 9

On No. 3 spot of our list of best smartphones to grab in 2018 comes one from the house of Nokia. Yes, we are  talking about the much awaited Nokia 9. This 5.5inch display phone with 13MP primary and 5MP secondary camera is expected to make the old smartphone world ruler, Nokia, proud again.

What we could make out from the leaked information about Nokia 9 is that it will be made available in a 4GB RAM model with two internal memory variants, including a 64GB and a 128GB internal memory model.

The phone is expected to sport a smart Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset and Adreno 540 GPU for amazing graphics. This will be a water proof and dust proof phone with IP68 certification. Be ready to spend approximately $699 to buy this phone.

4.       OnePlus 6

After basking in the success of OnePlus 5, the makers are now gearing up to bring forth its much awaited successor called One Plus 6 soon in 2018. Ever since OnePlus 5 was launched, we have been hearing various rumors about its successor and based on them, we expect it to be a cool 5.5 inch QHD AMOLED phone with Gorilla Glass 5 screen protection.

The phone will have not one but two dual cameras, including 21MP + 20MP at the rear side and another 16MP + 16MP at the front side. So, all in all, it will be a camera lover’s delight to grab in 2018. On the other hand, the phone is believed to incorporate a massive 4000mAh battery for a stupendous battery life.

Expected to be available in 6GB and 8GB RAM models with 64GB and 128GB internal memory respectively, OnePlus 6 might cost you approximately $550 but nothing has been officially confirmed about the same.

5.       Apple iPhone X Plus or iPhone 11

On the 5th spot comes the much awaited Apple iPhone X Plus or the rumoured iPhone 11 in our list of top 5 smartphones to grab in 2018. Believed to be available in 2 screen variants, including a 5.28inch and a massive 6.46inches display, this successor of the already ruling iPhoneX will be something to watch out for in 2018.

Some interesting features to watch out for on this upcoming iPhone model are the Face ID feature and the powerful Apple A12 chip as processor for the very first time in an Apple device. At the same time, we do expect a better battery life on this iPhone X Plus or iPhone 11 smartphone.

If rumors are to be believed, we expect Apple Inc. to launch this much awaited iPhone model in September 2018 at a price that will be slightly less expensive than iPhone X that costs a hefty $999. Since, iPhone X was not within the reach of many interested buyers, the company now definitely wants to boost its sales by launching iPhone 11 at a more affordable price this year.

So, hold on tight and weigh your options carefully before you splurge on your next smart phone.
