DJI is a name that is not new to drone and photography enthusiasts everywhere; they have built their reputation as a trustworthy brand when it comes to drones as they have released durable and smart drones that have been of use to many specialties and fields that require the use of a drone. The DJI Mavic Pro is yet another addition to DJI’s portfolio, and it comes with its own set of special features including the active track feature. The Mavic Pro Quad copter has a multitude of uses which are discussed in the next section along with some features and an estimated price.
DJI Mavic Pro Features and Abilities
The DJI Mavic Pro is no stranger to a foldable body. It can fit easily inside a backpack when folded, ready to be taken to its next destination to be used for landscape or event photography. It is extremely portable with a weight of less than a kilogram (734 grams). It’s Flight Autonomy features helps it see objects that are within meters of it to prevent it from crashing or other disasters. The active track feature allows it to track an object or a person or animal from behind. It can even fly over, and around the “subject” to get a full 360˚ view of it. We think there are a number of uses for this whether it is just for fun, when trying to prank friends or in real work, like wildlife observation or observing a battle ground or enemy territory.
It comes fitted with a 12 MP camera, a .435-inch CMOS sensor, it is able to capture greatly detailed videos at 30fps in 4k colors with a resolution of 4096x2160. It is equipped with a tri-axis mechanical gimbal and four vision sensors, making it fairly easy to use. To observe the footage users need to have a cell phone to observe the live footage from the drone. It can reach speeds of up to 65km/h which is great for covering track events of racecars and drifts, and the tracking feature makes it easier for the drone to keep up with the cars. It can last for 27 minutes on one charge.
For those moments that you want to reach the skies and observe a spectacular view while on a vacation or if you are a photographer and need to cover an air show event, you can do it with DJI Mavic Pro. This is because it can reach and function properly at a height of 5000 meters.
If you just want to have casual selfies taken with your friends but also want to include the surrounding scenery to make the moment more memorable and spectacular at the same time, the gesture mode of the DJI Mavic Pro will prove to be useful in such circumstances. The going price of one is around $1000.
But before you go off flying this thing illegally when you buy it, it is helpful to know that FAA requires that any unmanned aircraft more than 250g/0.55pounds need to be registered with the FFA. Fly with some responsibility.
