According to a DigiTimes report, the new Apple phone is going to switch from 2GB to 3GB. It states that the demand for the memory chips is increasing at high pace. Due to the comparative lack of supply, the price hike in chip industry is forecasted.
DigiTimes reports that next-gen smartphones are increasing built-in memories. Even iPhone devices are following the trend. This trend will ramp up the demand for memory products in the third quarter. The mobile DRAM capacity of the next-generation iPhone is expected to increase to 3GB from 2GB. While for new Android phones, RAM could raise to 6GB from 4GB.
The new iPhone variant is rumoured to sport a dual camera set up and a Smart Connector. It would thus need more power for these new setups. Thus the company is increasing the power to 3GB. Also, the company is said to bring 3 variants of the phone this time around. The names would be iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 Pro.

It has also made up a mockup video with the help of Unbox Therapy. The video features a Blue smartphone with the dual rear camera and Smart Connector, Redesigned antenna bands, a second speaker grille and 3.5 mm headphone jack.
There were different claims for the names of the next iPhone. A report said that the name would be iPhone 6SE owing to the break in its tick-tock cycle. A Chinese telecom operator teased with the name iPhone 7. Reports also indicate Deep Blue and Space Black coloured variants.
Apple will disclose the official announcement in its Launch Event. We expect them to host the event in early September.
