The new darling of the Mobile Phone gamers, the Pokemon Go spread a baffling fever around the world. The world is busy catching the hidden Pokemon in the surroundings. As the world was enjoying this excellent play, Niantic released an update to the game.
The update did not please many fans. Many unalarmed changes occurred making the game complicated. People around the world complained about facing difficulties in catching Pokemon.
A gamer in a review on Reddit says, "I can understand why Niantic removed the tracking since it was buggy but come on, the catch rate is so bad. Now I have to waste 3-4 poke balls for under 100 Pidgey. It seems that Niantic wants people to buy poke balls. Also, I live in the suburbs where there aren't many pokestops, so this is breaking the game for me."
Niantic responds to the issue by tweeting on its handle. The tweet read, "Trainers, a new bug affecting throw accuracy increases the odds of escape and omits the XP bonus. We are working on a fix, stay tuned."
The issue is voiced by the gamers worldwide. They voiced their irks in unison. The game is consuming more poke balls even if the player is head-to-head with some lower combat pointer. The higher level poses a worse situation.
The update took the troubles to upper levels as it altered the monster scanning frequency. It earlier used to scan every 5 seconds which now doubles to 10 seconds. It has a severe impact on the experience. Gamers cannot catch Pokemon when in cars or other vehicles as you could earlier. Niantic also removed the iconic and powerful monster, Pokemon-rare from trainer accounts like Articuno.
Another player expressed it this way, "A few hours ago Niantic increased the scan refresh time on their API from 5 seconds to 10 seconds. Now the time required to scan for new Pokemon in the area is double. It slows down 3rd party tracking apps and breaks any that do not update to this new standard. Even at moderate biking speeds, 10-second refreshes have the potential to miss entirely Pokemon located towards the outer half of your 'detection circle.' Now, if you bike and hope to catch Pokemon, you will find fewer."
The ratings of the game are sinking deeper on US App Store as well as Google Play. The new version has massive 2-star ratings. Now we have to see when Niantic responds to the user feedback. As of now, the Niantic is facing severe criticism.
In a statement to IGN, Niantic gave an explanation. It says, "We recently noticed that a few Legendary Pokemon got into a few accounts when they shouldn't have. To preserve the game's integrity and as a measure of fairness, we have rectified the situation and revoked the legendary Pokemon from the Trainers' accounts."
