Enjouis Raises 1.4 Million USD in Financing
Enjouis, a startup based out of Los Angeles CA has just attracted the attention of a bunch of prominent Los Angeles tech entertainment executives, who have responded in the form of a new financing round. The startup has managed to raise a sum total of 1.4 Million USD in financing from a bunch of people.
The timing of this financing round in the entertainment sector is being considered to be extremely strategic considering the fact that holiday season is just around the corner. The company primarily operates in the entertainment industry and aims to make it easier for hosts to plan their perfect party.
The company was founded by Comcast media executive Christopher Cunningham. Cunningham arrived at the idea of starting his own entertainment company when he faced his own troubles trying to plan for his friend’s 40th birthday party. On doing his research, Cunningham realised the size of the industry a mammoth 200 billion USD, which includes both parties as well as event planning (weddings included).
This fresh firepower was provided by Nancy Tellem (Executive Chairman of Eko Studio and also Former President of CBS Network Television), Daniel Murray (Chief Financial Officer, The Dollar Shave Club), Angela Mathes (previously helmed ABC Daytime TV) and Kent Wakeford (Esports entrepreneur).
The company started operations in 2015 and has now managed to build up quite a revenue stream. At the moment, the business posts 600,000, event professionals and 140 celebrity stylists. It has on ranks the likes of chef Lulu Powers, and Katie Brown, the host of PBS’ “The Katie Brown Workshop.”
Cunningham, since the early days of year 2014, has been perfecting his vision one task after the other. His primary concern in the early days was directed at recruiting event planning professionals and signing up vendors. These planners and vendors would then sell their services as well as wares through the Enjouis website. The website helps the brands in pushing sales more effectively and layer in advice from local pros too.
The Enjouis platform, to the consumers, is a lifestyle platform wherein various hosts as well as hostesses can get simple ideas on how to throw a good party. The business provides personalized step by step event design services, which makes it easy for the hosts to hire the right pros on a single platform in turn giving the hosts tools to help be successful as well as tools to reduce their stress in the process, much like a one stop party shop.
Talking about the user base, Cunningham states that the typical Enjouis customer is someone willing to spend between 500 and a 1000 dollars per event. These are the people that need some help in getting their bang for the buck and Enjouis is the platform aiming to do that.
A major portion of its user base included digital millennium moms. These are people categorized into the 25 - 45 years old age bracket, with kids and want to throw parties at home.
